From 31 May to 4 June 2021, the Global ASPnet meeting will bring together teacher education and training institutions represented by deans, teacher educators and student teachers from the UNESCO Associated Schools Network (ASPnet).

When brought closer together, culture and education have the capacity to expand learning trajectories and possibilities, notably by enriching pedagogical contents and diversifying educational approaches. While education plays a key role in safeguarding living heritage, the latter provides essential context-specific learning content. Thus, ICH acts as a leverage to increase the relevance and quality of education while improving learning outcomes, in line with Sustainable Development Goal 4 (SDG 4) on quality education.

As part of this Global ASPnet meeting, an online session will be dedicated on 3 June from 1.30 to 3pm Paris time to ‘Living heritage as an enabling force for transformative education’. This session will bring together 13 teachers who participated in pilot projects in Asia and the Pacific (Nepal, Republic of Korea and Thailand), Arab countries (Lebanon) and Europe (Belgium, Cyprus, Greece, Spain) organized by Field Offices and coordinated by the Living Heritage Entity. They will share their experiences and discuss the opportunities for learning with living heritage in schools and for teacher training.

Do not miss this great opportunity to learn from experiences on the ground !
