Session 2: Women reclaiming culture
Session 4: Culture, arts and the planet
CRIHAP delegates talked with colleagues of UNESCO’s Apia Office and cultural representatives about further multi-level cooperation.
Required and inspired by the forum, CRIHAP will differentiate its training to meet the need of 27 Pacific islands, factor in their diverse politics and traffic due to distinctive geographic locations. The CRIHAP shall work closely with administration sections in the field of culture and intangible cultural heritage and local institutions to form a highly effective cooperation and exchange platform in the future work.
In addition, CRIHAP will recommend China's safeguarding of intangible cultural heritage in a way that Pacific countries can relate to and put into practice. To this end, it plans to turn to studies on those countries by Chinese scholars and researchers.
As revealed on the forum, the Republic of Marshall Islands has become the state party of the Convention for the Safeguarding of Intangible Cultural Heritage whilst Tuvalu will join it in the near future. About fifty per cent of Pacific islands are yet to be state parties.
