The 3rd Session of the Governing Board of CRIHAP held in Beijing

On May 28, 2014, the 3rd Session of the Governing Board of International Training Center for Intangible Cultural Heritage in the Asia-Pacific Region was held in Beijing. The Session was chaired by Wang Wenzhang, President of Chinese National Academy of Arts, Director of China National Center for Safeguarding Intangible Cultural Heritage, and Chairperson of the Governing Board of CRIHAP. The replacement of 2 members of the Governing Board and new Advisory Committee were approved by the board at the session. The session announced that Ms. Xu Rong was nominated by Chinese Ministry of Culture to replace Mr. Yang Zhi as the Director of the Secretariat and this nomination was yet to be approved by the General Director of UNESCO. The Session also witnessed the review and approval of CRIHAP's 2013 annual work report and final statement, and 2014 annual work plan and budget. On May 29, 2014, the new Advisory Committee held the 2nd Session of the Advisory Committee of CRIHAP in Beijing.

On June 5, 2014, the Director-General of UNESCO expressed satisfaction with the appointment of Ms. Xu Rong as the new Director of the Secretariat of CRIHAP through an official letter. Ms. Xu Rong had worked in the Department of Culture Industry and the Bureau for External Cultural Relations, Ministry of Culture. She graduated from Beijing Foreign Studies University and Chinese National Academy of Arts, and obtained a BA and a MA in succession.
