CRIHAP opens training program on digital preservation in Cambodia

A Chinese expert gave a lecture at the training

Organized by the CRIHAP, Ministry of Culture and Fine Arts of Cambodia, and UNESCO office in Phnom Penh, the workshop discussed ways to digitize preservation of Intangible Cultural Heritage (ICH) and digital archive building. It also discussed how puppetry shows in China’s Fujian province was safeguarded. Shubha Chaudhuri and Paritta Chalermpow Koanantakool, two UNESCO ratified facilitators, were invited to give lessons on the status and problems of digitized preservation of ICH. Wang Kui and Ding Yan, experts form the Chinese National Academy of Arts, shared their knowledge on traditional drama in China and digitized preservation of ICH.

With long-term and multi-lateral cooperation, Ministry of Culture and Fine Arts of Cambodia, UNESCO office in Phnom Penh and CRIHAP are committed to make a big contribution to the preservation of Intangible Cultural Heritage, said the Minister Phoeurng Sackona.

As part of its three-year project in Cambodia, CRIHAP will offer training courses in the South East Asian nation next year.
