In 2021, the UNESCO Beijing Office and CRIHAP worked together to hammer out a three-year training plan on capacity-building for ICH safeguarding for youths in the Asia and Pacific region.

As a pilot project, the first workshop of the training program was held in the summer of 2021, achieving great success and yielding positive results. The event drew more than 130 young participants from 55 Chinese colleges and universities thanks to its rich content and creative teaching approaches.

During the workshop, the trainees submitted 73 video works, covering all five categories of ICH items mentioned in the Convention for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage, including ICH and transmission, ICH and creative industries, ICH and education, and ICH and new media.
