Online Workshop on ICH Capacity-Building for Youth kicks off
An online workshop on capacity-building for intangible cultural heritage safeguarding for youths kicked off on Aug 1. As the second workshop of a three-year training program, the event was co-organized by the UNESCO Beijing Office and the International Training Center for Intangible Cultural Heritage in the Asia-Pacific Region under the auspices of UNESCO.
Shahbaz Khan, director of UNESCO Beijing and representative to China; Himalchuli Gurung,former program specialist for Culture for the UNESCO Beijing Office; Duong Bich Hanh, newly appointed chief and program specialist for culture of the UNESCO Office in Beijing; and CRIHAP’s director-general Liang Bin attended the opening session of the training workshop via live stream or previously recorded videos.
Shahbaz Khan pointed out that UNESCO has paid close attention to youths and has, in recent years, developed various youth-targeted programs to encourage them to play a role in fulfilling the UN’s sustainable development goals.
