Secretary-General of the Namibian National Commission for UNESCO visits CRIHAP

Mr. Gernot Maximilian Piepmeyer, Secretary-General of the Namibian National Commission for UNESCO, visited the International Training Centre for Intangible Cultural Heritage in the Asia-Pacific Region under the auspices of UNESCO (CRIHAP) on March 24.

Mr. Zhang Jing, Director-General of CRIHAP, briefed Mr. Piepmeyer on the Centre's main functions. Mr. Piepmeyer expressed his desire to leverage China's valuable experience in the digital safeguarding of intangible cultural heritage, strategic planning, and the use of ICH for community livelihoods, particularly within Namibia's multicultural context. Both sides agreed to strengthen communication and exchanges, fully utilize CRIHAP's role as an international platform, and further promote exchanges and cooperation in the field of intangible cultural heritage between China and Africa.
