Workshop on Holistic Safeguarding and Sustainable Development for ICH in Yunnan
A workshop on the holistic safeguarding and sustainable development of intangible cultural heritage (ICH) will take place in Dali Bai autonomous prefecture, Yunnan province, from November 13-16, 2025. Jointly organized by the International Training Centre for Intangible Cultural Heritage in the Asia-Pacific Region under the auspices of UNESCO (CRIHAP), the Intangible Cultural Heritage Protection Center of Yunnan Province, and the Intangible Cultural Heritage Protection Center of Dali Bai Autonomous Prefecture, the event will bring together approximately 40 ICH researchers and practitioners. The four-day program will feature training from UNESCO facilitators Zhang Min and Suzanne Ogge, as well as renowned Chinese ICH expert Bamo Qubumo. The curriculum will cover core principles of the UNESCO 2003 Convention for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage, the development of China's people-centered cultural policies for ICH safeguarding, and emerging trends in the field.
