Training of Trainers Capacity Building Workshop on Safeguarding Intangible Cultural Heritage for Mongolia(First Session)held in Ulaanbaatar

Zhang Jing said that this workshop is the first session of the three-year training of trainers capacity building workshop on safeguarding intangible cultural heritage designed in response to Mongolia's needs. He expressed hope that participants would benefit from this training and continue with the subsequent two sessions. Zhang also affirmed CRIHAP’s commitment to supporting Mongolia's capacity building for safeguarding intangible cultural heritage to enhance the role of intangible cultural heritage in sustainable development.

This session is an important supplement to Mongolia's National Cultural Education Trainer Programme, and it aims at integrating intangible cultural heritage into Mongolia's nationwide cultural education system, and further raising awareness and capacity for safeguarding intangible cultural heritage in Mongolia. The training was attended by 40 trainees, including officials from the cultural and arts departments of Ulaanbaatar and 21 provinces, personnel from provincial cultural centers as well as individuals working in the field of cultural heritage. UNESCO facilitators Alexandra Denes and Saruul Arslan were invited to conduct this session.
