CRIHAP’s director-general Liang Bin attended the event and made a speech.

UNESCO’s Global Network of Facilitators has played an important role in promoting ICH safeguarding and development across the globe, said CRIHAP’s director-general Liang Bin. Over the past decade, dozens of facilitators have collaborated with CRIHAP to provide all state parties to the Convention and other relevant parties with productive and professional instructions.

As UNESCO’s Category 2 center specialized in capacity building for ICH safeguarding, CRIHAP looks forward to working with the newly accredited facilitators after holding the first Global Capacity Building Workshop for the Training of Trainers on Intangible Cultural Heritage Safeguarding in collaboration with the UNESCO Headquarters. CRIHAP will continue to work closely with the UNESCO Headquarters and actively push forward the Global Capacity-building Strategy, contributing to the improvement of ICH safeguarding capacities in state parties to the Convention, particularly the countries in the Asia-Pacific region.

Two UNESCO-accredited facilitators, Deirdre Prins-Solani and Lucas Dos Santos Roque, were invited to give detailed lectures.

As new members of UNESCO’s Global Network of Facilitators in ICH safeguarding, a total of 93 ICH safeguarding experts from 60 countries were invited to join the workshop. Two UNESCO-accredited facilitators, Deirdre Prins-Solani and Lucas Dos Santos Roque, were invited to give detailed lectures centering on the core contents and key concepts of the convention, the current situation and recent development of the Global Capacity-building Strategy, as well as the principles and the methods for the training of trainers. During the workshop, the two facilitators applied a variety of collaborative and interactive learning tools, including the Padlet App, real-time, online questionnaires and word cloud, to make the training process alive and appealing, thus enabling the participants to elaborate on their knowledge and to exchange views quickly and vividly.
