The three-year training program for the Philippines has drawn a total of 110 participants and nearly three quarters of them have attended all the workshops without a break. They are expected to work as local trainers and will be responsible for promoting the 2003 Convention, disseminating knowledge on ICH safeguarding and eventually contributing to ICH safeguarding in their country, in the Asia-Pacific region and beyond.

CRIHAP, a category 2 UNESCO center in the field of ICH safeguarding, is deeply involved in implementing the UNESCO global capacity-building strategy for the safeguarding of intangible cultural heritage and promoting the 2003 Convention for the Safeguarding of Intangible Cultural Heritage. It is responsible for providing intangible cultural heritage capacity-building training to 48 member states in the Asia-Pacific region.

To date, CRIHAP has organized a total of 60 ICH capacity-building workshops covering 41 countries and regions, with 2,101 direct beneficiaries in the Asia-Pacific region.
