Exhibition on CRIHAP achievements kicks off in Paris

An exhibition featuring achievements of International Training Centre for Intangible Cultural Heritage in the Asia-Pacific Region under the auspices of UNESCO (CRIHAP) from 2012 to 2017 is being held at the China Cultural Center in Paris from Oct 18 to Oct 24.

More than 60 representatives from UNESCO, the Chinese embassy in France, China Cultural Center and permanent delegations to UNESCO attended the opening ceremony. Among them were UNESCO Assistant Director-General for Culture Francesco Bandarin, Secretary-General of the 2003 Convention Tim Curtis; Minister-Counsellor from the Chinese embassy in Paris, Li Shaoping and the Director-General of the China Cultural Center in Paris, Yan Zhenquan and a dozen ambassadors from permanent delegation to UNESCO.

UNESCO’s Francesco Bandarin highly praised CRIHAP’s achievements since its establishment six years ago. He stressed the importance of category 2 centers in implementing UNESCO strategies, so that CRIHAP, a category 2 center, was expected to engage in more international cultural affairs.
