The Workshop on Safeguarding Intangible Cultural Heritage through Museums in Central Asia, co-organized by the International Training Centre for Intangible Cultural Heritage in the Asia-Pacific Region under UNESCO (CRIHAP) and the UNESCO Almaty Office, will take place from September 8 to 10, 2026, in Almaty, Kazakhstan. Museum professionals from Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Turkmenistan are expected to participate.

The workshop will feature Ms. Tamara Nikolić Đerić, an expert with extensive museum experience, as the lead instructor. The program aims to inspire museums in Central Asia to redefine their missions, transforming them into active vehicles for transmitting living heritage. This initiative seeks to establish a practical foundation for the sustainable development of intangible cultural heritage in the region.
