The Workshop on Empowering Indigenous Youth for Living Heritage Safeguarding in Bangladesh (Session 2) will be held at the BRAC Learning Centre, Bangladesh, from May 17 to 21, 2026.

The workshop aims to bring together indigenous youth from the Bishnupriya Manipuri, Meitei Manipuri, and tea garden worker communities in the Sylhet region. Guided by UNESCO facilitator Alexandra Denes and local expert Rifat Munim, participants will engage in an immersive learning experience.

The training will focus on the principles of the Convention for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage, using diverse methods such as technical sessions, practical exercises, field visits, community interviews, and group discussions. Key topics include ethical documentation, interviewing techniques, audiovisual recording, free prior and informed consent (FPIC), and inventory preparation.
