The “Training of Trainers Capacity Building Workshop on Safeguarding Intangible Cultural Heritage for Indonesia,” jointly organized by the International Training Centre for Intangible Cultural Heritage in the Asia-Pacific Region (CRIHAP) and the UNESCO Jakarta Office, is scheduled to take place from July 7 to 11, 2025, in Jakarta, Indonesia.

This workshop will focus on the fundamentals and key concepts of the Convention, aiming to enhance participants' understanding of the guiding principles of the Convention and UNESCO’s working principles and methodologies. Participants will engage in group discussions and presentations, where facilitators will help them connect the Convention’s concepts with real-world ICH elements from Indonesia. Topics to be covered include safeguarding measures, the relationship between ICH and sustainable development, ICH and commercialization, and fieldwork techniques. Additionally, a field visit is planned, during which facilitators and experts will assist participants in developing a sample inventory entry focused on traditional food preparation techniques.
