The workshop on Safeguarding Intangible Cultural Heritage for Laos, organized by CRIHAP and the Ministry of Information, Culture, and Tourism of Laos, will kick off in Pu’er city, Yunnan province on April 22, 2024.

The workshop will last for 4 days, focusing on ICH Inventorying. UNESCO ICH Facilitators Ms. Linina Puttitarn and Mr. ZHU Gang will provide in-depth explanations on the steps and methods of Inventorying, as well as ethical principles, the interlinks between Intangible Cultural Heritage and sustainable development, to more than 20 cultural officials from the Ministry of Information, Culture, and Tourism of Laos, and representatives from different provinces and counties. Facilitators will engage the trainees through diverse forms and tools, in order to mobilize the learning enthusiasm, including lectures, case studies, fieldwork, group discussions, and presentations, actively interacting and exchanging ideas with the trainees, enhancing their practical abilities while transmitting knowledge.
