The working documents for the 18.COM are now online

The working documents for the eighteenth session of the Intergovernmental Committee for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage (18.COM) are now online. They include the recommendations of the Evaluation Body for the 2023 cycle’s nominations, periodic reports submitted by States Parties in the Arab States, a report on the twentieth anniversary of the Convention in 2023, outcomes of the reflection on a broader implementation of Article 18 of the Convention, as well as a report on progress made in the thematic initiatives concerning living heritage and sustainable development.

The 18.COM will be chaired by H.E. Mr Mustaq Moorad, Ambassador and Permanent Delegate of the Republic of Botswana to UNESCO, and will be held in Kasane, Republic of Botswana (Wild View Resort) from Monday 4 to Saturday 9 December 2023.

An opening ceremony offered by the host country will take place from 7:00 p.m. on Sunday 3 December 2023. More information will be provided in due course.

As the start of the meeting is fast approaching, those participants who are not yet registered are invited to do so online as soon as possible and before Monday 20 November 2023.
