CRIHAP Director-General Liang Bin gives a speech at the opening ceremony of the workshop.

Liang Bin said CRIHAP, as a Category 2 center under the auspices of UNESCO in the Asia-Pacific region, has been deeply involved in implementing UNESCO’s global strategy of capacity-building on ICH safeguarding, promoting the 2003 Convention for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage and providing capacity-building training on ICH safeguarding for 48 member states in the Asia-Pacific region. Responding to calls from the Philippines, CRIHAP has held workshops to train ICH safeguarding trainers for the country at the national level. As this is the last of the three-year workshop series for the Philippines, CRIHAP worked closely with UNESCO facilitators to provide trainees with an innovative training experience both on training content and method, aiming to achieve a better result.
