Dr. Frank Proschan visits CRIHAP

The third section started on Feb 2. This section was centered on the Intangible cultural heritage and sustainable development.. Proschan gave an intensive review of the new chapter of draft Operational Directives on ‘Safeguarding intangible cultural heritage and sustainable development at the national level’(Decision 10.COM 14.a) from the perspective of social development, food security, Health care, gender equality, economic development and Quality education. Opportunities and possible obstacles for intersectional cooperation when safeguarding the ICH at the national level were also discussed.

Proschan’s discussion and interaction with the CRIHAP staff was in English and his rigorous attitude and smart humor left a strong impression on the staff. As a professional specialist in the field of ICH safeguarding, Proschan shared his first-hand experience with the staff, which greatly supported the development of the CRIHAP in the future.
