This session marked the final one with full participation from the Asia-Pacific region under this program; state parties will proceed in smaller groups based on the previous sessions.
Since UNESCO initiated the mechanism of periodic reporting in 2018, the method of submitting periodic reports has shifted to a rotating approach based on geographical distribution. According to the work plan formulated by the Secretariat of the 2003 Convention, State Parties from the Asia-Pacific region are required to submit the final draft of the reports by December 15, 2024.
