Review on Capacity Building Workshops (2012-2018) organized by CRIHAP and Recommendations on future activities

During the workshop, the representatives from UNESCO cluster offices and UNESCO facilitators conveyed UNESCO’s latest trends in the field of intangible cultural heritage safeguarding, especially in intangible cultural heritage and emergency, intangible cultural heritage and non-governmental organizations, intangible cultural heritage and cities, intangible cultural heritage and traditional indigenous languages, intangible cultural heritage in formal and informal education, intangible cultural heritage and gender, ethical principles, international assistance, intangible cultural heritage and sustainable development. They also shared the latest knowledge and understanding of the Convention.
As one of the seven category 2 centres in the field of intangible cultural heritage supported by UNESCO, CRIHAP has been following the working principles of UNESCO since its establishment in 2012. Promoting the Convention, actively carrying out international training activities for intangible cultural heritage, and building platforms for international exchange and cooperation in the field of intangible cultural heritage, it has also made positive contributions on strengthening the capacity-building of relevant personnel in the field of intangible cultural heritage in 48 member states of the Asia Pacific region. This workshop is CRIHAP’s 44th training workshop on capacity building of intangible cultural heritage. Up to now, training workshops held by the centre covered 48 countries in the Asia Pacific region, with 1,362 direct beneficiaries.
