The 3rd Annual Coordination Meeting of Category 2 Centres Active in the Field of
Intangible Cultural Heritage is held in Guiyang in Guiyang, Guizhou, July 6, 2015.


The 3rd Annual Coordination Meeting of Category 2 Centres Active in the Field of Intangible Cultural Heritage under the auspices of UNESCO was held in Guiyang, Guizhou, from 6 to 8 July 2015. Altogether 20 representatives from UNESCO headquarters and its field offices, as well as Category 2 Centres in China, South Korea, Japan, Iran, Bulgaria and Peru attended the meeting.

Niu Genfu, Vice President of the Chinese National Academy of Arts spoke at the opening session on behalf of Wang Wenzhang, Chairman of the CRIHAP Governing Board and president of the CNAA. He praised UNESCO’s enormous contributions to the maintenance of peace and human dignity in the past 70 years, and reaffirmed that CNAA remains committed to the development of CRIHAP and is ready to play a bigger role in safeguarding intangible cultural heritage in the Asia-Pacific region. Li Sheng Xiang, Vice DG of Guizhou Provincial Department of Culture welcomed all participants of the meeting. Cecile Duvelle, chief of UNESCO’s Intangible Heritage Section, shared with audiences the recent development in the life of 2003 Convention and and UNESCO’s strategy with Category 2 Centres.
